Billing Officer – Position Filled

Position: Billing Officer

Location: Port Macquarie

Our Client is currently seeking an experienced Billing Officer to join their team for a short term contract in Port Macquarie.

As the Billing Services Officer you will be responsible for ensuring Sundry Billing as well as Customer Payments and Refund functions are performed accurately and on time, in line with regulatory obligations, market rules, policies and procedures and delegated authority.

Key Accountabilities

  • Process all Sundry Billing, Customer Payments and Refunds as well as related functions within business systems, to allow timely and accurate completion of these activities ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Provide business administrative and operational support to meet Essential Energy’s
    obligation under relevant regulations, procedures and processes
  • Process and maintain daily and monthly reconciliations for all relevant accounts as per
    Essential Energy’s policy and procedures if required
  • Assist in the identification and development of requirements for system and process
    improvements as well as testing and implementation of system and process changes to
    ensure smooth process transitions
  • Research and analyse information using relevant business systems regarding billing
    discrepancies to determine anomalies and adjust to ensure billing processes are able to
    be completed in a timely manner
  • Provide support to all stakeholders for all billing related enquiries
  • Support the Revenue Assurance and Billing Services teams in the development,
    implementation and governance of processes, systems, reporting and procedures to
    support the effective and efficient operation and delivery of end to end billing to
    collection services across the Revenue Services function
  • Participate in training and development and provide support across Revenue Services
    as required to assist with peak workloads.
  • Assist in creating a working environment that empowers employees to take ownership of
    their work and encourage innovative thinking to support continuous system and process
    improvements that will benefit and help the organisation meet customer, community and
    stakeholder needs.

Skills Requirements

  • Cert III in Business or demonstrated capability through past employment experience
    and/or relevant qualifications.
  • Demonstrated Experience in a customer service focused environment
  • Demonstrated operational understanding of large transactional volume based service
    environments or demonstrated ability to quickly gain this understanding
  • Demonstrated Experience in operating business systems required to support large
    transactional volume based processes
  • Experience in applying business policies and regulations relevant to a functional and
    transactional role in a customer service environment
  • Experience in the administration of customer service operations in a functional and
    transactional environment.
